Our adventures continued along with some amazing changes for us during 2014.
The New Year found us on the last portion of our Antarctic cruise, traveling from the most southern tip (Cape Horn and Ushuaia), along the Beagle Canal through the Chilean Fjords to our termination port of Valparaiso, Chile.
From there we rented a car and crossed the Andes (quite an unexpected adventure!) to the Malbec wine city of Mendoza, Argentina. We spent 4 days in Mendoza visiting wineries before returning to Santiago, Chile for our flight back to California.
We returned to Europe in May to officially “hand-over” the keys and do a final walk-through for the Australian couple who purchased JoLi’ Folie.
Our monumental change occurred during a July visit to Northern California. We made the decision to sell our home of 24 years and move to Northern California to be closer to the entire family. In the course of 3 weeks, we put our home on the market, accepted an offer, and closed escrow on the day we drove the u-Haul truck out the driveway.
The rest of 2014 flew by with our being busy with family gatherings, and settling in to our new area. Southern California seems like decades ago.
