We bought an empty shell of a 1921 Dutch barge in 2001.
We named her JoLi’ Folie
and we’ve been enjoying life in France each year onboard.

When we first arrived in France and started the conversion
I heard people speaking of brocantes and vide-greniers
and thought they were just a waste of time
… people selling their old junk.

Hah! An american friend who had a barge in the same port
suggested I go with her one day “brocanting”.

The rest is history…
